Customer Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brad Thompson, Site Foreman, CivilWorks QLD, Brisbane Been running the Watanabe THOR 2.4 with the drawbar kit on a subdivision job in Brisbane for a couple of months now. Slung it on an 18-tonner and it’s been chewing up the mudstone on-site and spitting it straight back in as fill. Does the job fine. Only gripe is it’s a touch heavier than the old hammer we had, so the excavator drinks a bit more fuel. Solid bit of kit overall.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mick O’Connor, Owner-Operator, O’Connor Excavations, Perth Perth’s full of that nasty ironstone sandstone. Old bucket used to jam constantly. This THOR 2.4 has been going three months and hasn’t thrown a major tantrum yet. Teeth are wearing slower than I thought they would. Drawbar kit works a treat – no wobble when you’re dragging it around loaded. Only pain is the factory hoses on the quick-hitches are too short; ended up extending them myself. Does what it says on the tin.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sarah Nguyen, Plant Manager, Hanson Quarries, Melbourne We’re using it for recycled road base. Crush size is pretty consistent and the customers haven’t kicked up a stink. Quieter and less vibration than the old bucket we were running – driver’s not knackered at the end of a shift. Melbourne distributor actually had stock and got it to us in two days. Yeah it’s not cheap, but it hasn’t broken yet so five stars for now.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Darcy Williams, Contractor, Top End Earthworks, Darwin Up here in Darwin it’s stinking hot and everything rusts overnight. Four months in and the paint’s still hanging on, pins look fine. The drawbar kit saves me hiring a second trailer most days. Plenty strong enough for smashing old concrete kerb or random boulders. Manual’s all in Japanese – Google Translate got me through. Four stars, would be five if the book was in English.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Liam Harris, Workshop Manager, Coates Hire, Sydney We’ve got two of these out on rental. Customers seem happy enough. One came back with a weeping quick coupler – just needed nipping up. The other is chewing through teeth a bit quick on Sydney sandstone, but that’s normal. Everyone likes the drawbar setup, saves stuffing around with a separate dolly. Does exactly what you’d expect, no dramas, no miracles – safe four stars.
